Flight from Falmouth Airpark (5B6) to Windham CT (KILD) and return to establish some fuel consumption numbers. 2.4 hours round trip. Outbound had to climb to 4500 feet due to lots of turbulence. Climb to 3500' for return flight. Ran on the rich side of mixture for most of the flight to determine consumption in that condition.
Total fuel used was 9.3 gallons, or about 3.9 GPH. In cruise used altitude hold and left power constant at about 2850rpm when level. RPM and airspeed varied as the plane had to climb or descend to maintain the altitude in the turbulent thermal conditions.
